Last weekend I had the absolute pleasure of meeting the Penska Family’s newest little one, Brooks. You might remember this sweet family from a recent family session I posted that showcased their sweet daughter, Brinnley, along with a sign telling the world that she was going to be a big sister! She has transitioned into the role of big sister now, and she couldn’t be any cuter with her new brother. She calls him baby chip, which might be the cutest little nickname I have ever heard, and though she wasn’t too interested in performing in front of my camera, she was interested in telling me that mommy holds baby chip and saying that Brinnley runs around! She eventually decided to get in on the action by helping feed her brother and giving him some sweet kisses. (Also how cute are all of her dresses?!) Brooks himself was the BEST BABY ever! He did not cry for one single second in the entire 2.5 hours I was there! He let us wrap him up and take his clothes off and was just the sweetest little love nugget. Simply put, babies like him make me want to have one thousand more babies. 🙂 At the time of our shoot, Brooks was 13 days old, and has been a real trooper so far. Brittany and Al said that he just goes with the flow for the most part, and just has the most laid back temperament. And it never hurts when they are so dang cute – it made this session so fun to edit! Here are a few of my favorites:
Last weekend I met up with the Jewell family for a super fun session in Georgetown, which is a very cool and historical area of Washington, DC. I hadn’t done many sessions in Georgetown before, but was very excited for the opportunity to expand my portfolio, and met up with the Jewell family at Georgetown University to start our session, and ended at the waterfront. Chris is a student at Georgetown University Law School, so I think it will be special to have some images of his family around campus, as well as the greater Georgetown area. Janice + Chris have the sweetest kids, Liam and Emma. They were such a treat to photograph, and required almost zero bribes to smile! Janice’s parents also came along for the session, which I LOVED. I think capturing grandparents with your children is one of the sweetest things you can do, and I hope that the Jewell family treasures those images for years to come. Some of my favorite images are the ones of Janice’s parents together. She and Chris encouraged me to make them snuggle, which came across adorable in the photos. Here are a few of my favorites!
Last weekend, I went to meet sweet baby Isaac and his sweet parents, Alana + Phil! Isaac was born about 10 days prior to our session, and he was one of the most agreeable newborns I have worked with! He hardly cried at all, and was content to lounge around, both awake and asleep, and let me take his photos! He was also a champion eater! I can tell that he is already very advanced and smart, and he is a very accomplished baby model ;). Isaac is a tiny little guy – he was somewhere above the 7 lb mark at birth, and lost a bit of weight as many babies do, but is working on packing on the rolls moving forward! It is always so interesting to me that people make 7 lb humans. I grew two 9 pound babies, so I am in awe and very jealous of people who manage to grow them smaller than that! We held Isaac’s shoot in his sweet nursery, which is ADORABLY Eric Carlisle themed. His grandmother made some amazing quilts and fabric art pieces for the walls, and I was so impressed with the skill that it must take to put the quilts together. They were so beautiful! I am excited to share some of my favorites from my time with Isaac, Alana & Phil:
