Today I am sharing some of my favorites from a sunny winter newborn session that I was lucky enough to capture one afternoon in early December (which just proves that I am terrible about keeping up with this space :)). Lucas was just a few days old when these portraits were taken, and his sweet parents and furry sister were all so smitten with him! I was so touched by how sweet she was with him in the portraits on the bed! Here are some of my favorites:
I am the worst “blogger” of all time (seriously, if you want to see all of my recent work, head over to Instagram or Facebook!). I haven’t posted here in 5 long months. In those five months, we happened upon a global pandemic that has changed the world as we know it, and wow, it’s been such a weird time! I have about a thousand images from a hundred different sessions to share with you guys, but thought I would kick it off with one of my favorite families, the Kozikowskis! You’ve definitely seen a lot of them here, and I have yet ANOTHER session of theirs to share after this one, because they now have another precious daughter! I will try to get Bailey’s newborn portraits up soon, but in the meantime, here are some of my favorites from our maternity shoot back in early May:
You guys. Even four months later, I am still pinching myself that I had the privilege to photograph this wedding!!! Rheanna + Pat set a date of September 21st for what was sure to be the wedding of the damn decade, and I was ALL IN. They chose to get married at Patrick’s family property in Catharpin, Virginia. Patrick grew up on this land, and it really is the most idyllic setting for a wedding. When it comes to variety in scenery, its got it all – woodland forestry, sweeping fields, a gorgeous barn, perfectly lit wooded areas, and a pond with the perfect amount of mossy growth on top. It is a photographer’s dream! Aside from all that, I knew that with Rheanna’s creative mind & Patrick’s woodworking ability, the event was going to be stunning and THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Every single table, wooden box, wooden sign, table covering or other wood element was BUILT BY THE GROOM WITH HIS OWN TWO HANDS. His expert craftsmanship was such a big part of the event, and I have never seen such a beautiful reception set up.
I feel like I have turned over a new leaf – two posts in as many days! Today, I am sharing some of my favorites from a sweet family portrait session with one of my favorite families! The Donovans hit the golden hour jackpot with their session this fall, and I was squealing in delight throughout the entire session, AND as I was editing. We met up at my favorite location (Silver Lake Park, of course!), with the best weather, most beautiful light, and the cutest little baby. What more can a photographer want?! Here are just a few of my faves:
One of my favorite babies turned one back in September. I can’t believe I haven’t shared these portraits yet! Orrrrr really anything at all in this space over the past several months. I have a ton of content headed your way, including maybe the most beautiful wedding, sweet newborns, fun families, and the cutest holiday session. I’ve been away so long that at the time of these photos Taylor was a new one year old, and now she is almost 18 months old, and has a baby sister on the way! Here are some of my faves from Taylor’s first birthday portraits!
Hello??? Is this thing on??? WOW it has been a busy summer! I haven’t posted any of my new content here in TWO MONTHS! I have so many fun sessions with lovely families, sweet couples, and beautiful babies to share with you, but it seems that I can’t quite stay on track between working and hanging with my family this summer :). I met up with the Confer family at Lake Brittle (such a special place to me!) back in JUNE for some updated family portraits, with a side of cake smash to celebrate Emmy Lou’s first birthday! I have so many things I can say about how sweet and fun this family is – I have known them forever. Kinsey + Shawn are high school sweethearts and really a perfect match. I remember when they first started dating! We always used to pick on Shawn as teenagers, and he was always so easygoing and willing to let it roll off his back. Its been such a treat to watch them evolve over the years and start their family with Lane and now Emmy Lou. Its been an even bigger treat to be able to photograph their family and preserve some memories for them during this season of life. Here are some of my favorites from our time together:
I first met Lindsay several years ago, through a friend that we share. We crossed paths at a couple of events or nights out, but I REALLY got to know Lindsay on my best friend’s bachelorette party. We had so much fun together in Miami, and one of my favorite memories is getting the most gigantic slices of pizza (Jumbo Slice, anyone?) and sitting on the sidewalk outside of a club devouring them. There happens to be very impressive photographic evidence of this, but I will spare you that gem for now. We all had so much fun at the bachelorette party that it bled over into the wedding and even beyond. One night all of us (except Lindsay, she couldn’t make it) tried to recreate the party by having a girl’s night out in Arlington, VA. We were sad that Lindsay couldn’t be there in person, but we had life-size cutouts of her head on sticks to bring with us, and they made it in manyyyy photos. I will spare you those lovely images as well :). Since the years of our bachelorette galavanting (by the way, we should do that again soon, ladies!), Lindsay has started the sweetest little family, and I was so happy that I was able to photograph them this spring! Lindsay + Brandon’s daughter, Ellery, is a MOOD – and I mean that in the best possible way. She is a GOOD mood. She is three years old and adorable, with her Shirley Temple curls. She is outgoing and funny. She had me laughing for the entire session, which is pretty impressive for a 3 year old! I am sharing some of my favorites of Ellery (and her parents) today, and I can’t wait for you to see how fun she is!
I loved this session! Not only is it featuring one of my favorite families, but it also includes a cake smash! We have known the Confers for about a hundred years now, and it is fun having friends with a family full of boys like ours :). Mason is the oldest, and he is such a sweet little soul. He is always happy and kind, and I think I might like him more than my own kids (kidding!…sort of ;)). Camden is in the middle, and is such a nugget to photograph. He is cautious with his smiles, and I feel so GOOD when I get a real one out of him. The Confers one upped us last May, with the addition of their third boy, Liam. He just celebrated his first birthday, and couldn’t have been cuter if he tried. He wasn’t quite sure what to think of the cake itself, but he still did a great job getting messy! Here are my favorites!
I met up with the Ellis family at Silver Lake Park back in April, and I was SO excited, because Sarah & I had been planning their family portraits for months. I had encouraged her to wait until their youngest daughter, Letty, was just a little bit older, and sitting (or close to it!). I told her that things start to really turn green in mid-April, and so we set our sights on a Saturday in the middle of the month. I was SO HAPPY when everything was green, but also all of the spring florals were in peak bloom! All of the green and purple hues made for such a beautiful backdrop for their portraits, and I loved the colors that Sarah chose for her family to wear. It was so appropriate for spring, and I just love the whimsical and happy feel of these photos! Here are so many of my favorites from their shoot!
WOW I have been ignoring this space lately! It has been over two months since I last posted, and boy have I been busy! I have been so lucky and worked with so many fantastic clients. Between all of the photo work and daily life, I just haven’t found the time to fit in a good blog post! This should explain why tonight’s post is of a session that was two months ago! I am looking forward to getting back into the groove of sharing my work here, and showing you some of the highlights from a lovely spring filled with lovely clients!
One of my all-time favorite friends has one of my all-time favorite babies! Hilary and Taylor are the cutest little mother-daughter duo, and I was all too happy to hang with them and capture how sweet and silly Taylor is at six months old. An even better bonus is that Hilary’s sweet mom was in town again for Taylor’s portraits, so we got to capture a few of the two of them as well. Here are some of my favorites of Taylor and all of her squishy, smiley, sweetness!
